InboxGuard Privacy Policy
The Google Play version of InboxGuard is a local-first notification protection app. It does not request Internet, network-state, SMS, MMS, or Call Log permissions, and it does not transmit notification content, rules, or diagnostics to POI Studio.
1. Developer and application
- Application: InboxGuard
- Package:
com.poistudio.inboxguard - Developer: POI Studio
- Privacy contact: poistudio.dev@protonmail.com
2. Data processed on your device
The Google Play package (com.poistudio.inboxguard) may process the following data locally:
- Notification titles, text, source application, posting time, and locally generated classification results.
- User-created filtering rules, settings, and classification corrections.
This processing occurs on the device. InboxGuard does not include advertising, analytics, remote crash reporting, or telemetry SDKs.
3. Permissions and Android access
- Notification access: used to classify notifications locally and apply rules that you configure.
- Post notifications: used for privacy-preserving risk and review alerts.
You can disable notification access or deny notification posting in Android settings. Features that depend on that access will stop working or remain observe-only.
4. Data sharing and network transmission
InboxGuard does not sell, share, upload, or transmit your personal or sensitive data to POI Studio or third parties. The Android application does not request INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, SMS/MMS, or Call Log permissions.
This public privacy-policy page is hosted separately from the Android app on Cloudflare Workers. Visiting this web page is independent of using InboxGuard; the app does not contact this Worker.
5. Storage, retention, and deletion
- App records and settings are stored in the application's private on-device storage.
- You can clear handled and old non-essential filtering records from the app's privacy controls.
- You can delete all app-private data through Android's “Clear storage” control or by uninstalling InboxGuard.
6. Backups, migration, and exports
InboxGuard disables Android cloud backup and Android 12 or later device-to-device transfer for all app-private data domains.
Rules or correction data leave app-private storage only when you explicitly choose an export destination through Android's document picker. A redacted correction export can replace likely URLs, phone numbers, email addresses, verification codes, monetary amounts, and long identifiers. The beta diagnostic report contains aggregate local statistics only and excludes notification text, source identifiers, reasons, URLs, phone numbers, and per-record timestamps. You control and are responsible for files you export.
7. Security
InboxGuard minimizes access to sensitive data by processing it locally, using app-private storage, disabling system backup and migration, protecting sensitive Android components with platform permissions, and omitting network permissions from the app.
No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. Keep your device and Android system updated and use a secure device lock.
8. Children's privacy
InboxGuard is not directed to children. POI Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users because the app does not transmit user data to POI Studio.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when InboxGuard's functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will be disclosed through an app update or the Google Play listing where appropriate.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact POI Studio at poistudio.dev@protonmail.com.
11. Separately distributed Full build
A separately distributed Full build uses the package com.poistudio.inboxguard.full. It is not the Google Play app and may offer optional default-SMS features with a different permission surface. Review its in-app disclosures before enabling those features.
